We are passionate about achieving results and have fun winning as a team!</p> <p> </p> <p>We currently have an opportunity for a <strong>Director, Sales - Target.  </strong>This field-based role serves as the primary sales leader supporting our Target business. </p> <h2>Responsibilities</h2> <p><strong>Your Role: </strong></p> <p>The <strong>Director, Sales</strong> for Target is responsible for delivering annual revenue and earnings combined with setting the long-term strategic direction for the business.  This position is responsible for delivering sustainable, predictable and profitable accelerated growth.  The Senior Sales Director leads a team of sales personnel across multiple accounts, geographies and channels of distribution.  Ownership of top-to-top relationships is expected.    The role will have heavy interface with internal stakeholders.   He/she will instill strong business planning and forecasting processes combined with concrete margin optimization focus areas. results.</li> <li>Accelerate market share gain across Target.</li> <li>Work within prescribed tools and budgets.</li> </ul> <p><strong>People leadership</strong></p> <ul> <li>Build, retain and develop high performing sales organization capable of delivering against the organization growth aspirations.</li> <li>Accountable for sales organization talent management and succession planning.</li> <li>Enhance the commercial capability of the business.</li> <li>Task force leadership and involvement with key company initiatives.</li> </ul> <p><strong>Customer management</strong></p> <ul> <li>Oversee and lead the current customer base with a focus on evaluating and auditing performance, optimizing existing relationships and profitably increasing revenue. </li> <li>Collaborate with Target to develop their business insights and analytics and innovation</li> <li>Own top-to-top relationship with Target.</li> <li>Aligns internal team to customer priorities</li> <li>Store brand business development and stewardship</li> <li>Forecast optimization and process compliance.</li> </ul> <p><strong>Financial management and controls</strong></p> <ul> <li>Accountable for commercial P&L delivery across designated markets.   This includes branded products and store brands. </li> <li>Deliver year on year margin improvement through customer margin and trade spend optimization combined with pricing and mix improvement initiatives.  Strong alignment with Revenue Growth Management (RGM) team</li> <li>Ensure Trade Spend control and establish high levels of quality, accuracy and process consistency in planning, forecasting and budgeting process.   Heavy involvement with Live Rate implementation, compliance and actions via TPM tools.</li> <li>Make trade spend investment and rationalization decision across the various markets.</li> </ul> <p><strong>Data and analytics</strong></p> <ul> <li>Measurement and reporting on internal and external KPI’s</li> <li>Interpret sales & category trends via syndicated sources (Circana, NIQ, POS/ Shopper data)</li> <li>Apply shopper insights to customer strategies.</li> <li>Identifies opportunities & risks, builds plans to accelerate in business or related field.</li> <li>MBA or other advanced degree desirable.</li> </ul> <p><strong>Experience</strong>:</p> <ul> <li>Minimum of 10 years’ relevant experience in CPG in Sales, category and customer marketing roles with involvement in broad commercial issues.</li> <li>Experience in developing and managing customers across multiple geographies.</li> <li>Prior sales leadership experience combined with a proven track record of developing, coaching and mentoring cross functional teams.</li> <li>Demonstrative experience of commercial P&L management and financial delivery.</li> <li>Comprehensive understanding of cross functions including marketing, finance, supply chain and operations.</li> </ul> <p><strong>Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:</strong></p> <ul> <li>Strong entrepreneurial mindset and ability to manage high level of complexity and ambiguity.</li> <li>Self-directed with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment with multiple accountabilities.</li>
