Description: Cognizant is looking for a dynamic and strategic IoT Solution Sales Director - MedTech & LS with deep expertise in Life Sciences, particularly within Medical Device R&D. This role is focused on driving growth across IoT, Smart Manufacturing, Product Engineering, and R&D services by delivering innovative, consultative solutions. The ideal candidate will act as a trusted advisor, shaping client strategies and enabling transformation within Life Sciences and Healthcare accounts.

Responsibilities:
• Develop and execute robust sales strategies and pipeline plans focused on the Medical Device R&D sector.
• Own and manage end-to-end sales, including opportunity identification, solutioning, proposal development, and deal closure.
• Lead P&L responsibilities, driving both revenue growth and profitability across assigned accounts.
• Manage a portfolio of IoT programs, including governance, financial oversight, and demand forecasting.
• Build and maintain strong executive-level relationships with clients and internal stakeholders.
• Drive account planning efforts to expand existing engagements and identify new growth opportunities.
• Lead RFP responses and proactive proposal development aligned with account strategy.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and deliver innovative solutions.
• Achieve and exceed revenue, TCV, and profitability targets.
• Operate effectively in a matrix organisation, supporting broader sales and prospecting initiatives.
• Partner with HR, operations, and global delivery teams to ensure seamless demand fulfilment.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives that enhance client value and strengthen long-term partnerships.

Required Skills/Qualifications:
• 14+ years of experience, including 10+ years in sales or business development within Product Engineering, Manufacturing, or Industrial Automation domains.
• Proven track record of achieving revenue and TCV targets within Life Sciences (Bio Pharma and MedTech) sectors.
• Strong expertise in Medical Device Manufacturing, Smart Product Development, and R&D Engineering.
• Deep understanding of the end-to-end product development lifecycle for medical devices and manufacturing products.
• Experience in consultative selling of engineering services or solutions to R&D organisations.
• Demonstrated success managing large-scale consulting engagements and client relationships.
• Technical knowledge in IoT, Embedded Engineering, Device Engineering, Edge Intelligence, PLM, networking technologies, and system integrations.
• Strong stakeholder engagement, negotiation, and executive communication skills.
• Ability to work with senior client stakeholders including C-suite, R&D leaders, and manufacturing heads.
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related technical field.

Preferred Qualifications/Skills:
• Familiarity with GxP and regulatory compliance environments.
• Experience working across Life Sciences domains such as Medical Devices, Bio Pharma, and Healthcare.
• Exposure to emerging technologies and digital transformation trends within IoT, Smart Manufacturing, and Product Engineering.


Salary and Other Compensation:
The annual salary for this position is between $180,000 to $200,000+ depending on experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.
This position is also eligible for Cognizant’s discretionary annual incentive program, based on performance and subject to the terms of Cognizant’s applicable plans.
