In this contractor role, you will have the opportunity to provide high-quality care to patients with cancer. Your responsibilities include pre-treatment workup, treatment planning, collaboration and support for local treatment management, ongoing cancer maintenance and risk-reduction therapy, symptom assessment and management, as well as cancer surveillance and survivorship care. </p><p style="min-height:1.5em">All services will be delivered remotely through a telehealth platform using video, audio, and asynchronous messaging. The ideal candidate will be passionate about reducing the impact of cancer on populations, skilled in utilizing telehealth technology, and committed to delivering best-in-class cancer care. </p><p style="min-height:1.5em"></p><p style="min-height:1.5em"><strong>How You'll Contribute: </strong></p><ul style="min-height:1.5em"><li><p style="min-height:1.5em">Conduct clinical assessments and diagnostic evaluations, develop treatment and management plans, deliver direct care, including ordering laboratory, imaging, procedures, referrals, and prescriptions, and closely collaborate with local clinicians in order to deliver evidence-based cancer care.</p></li><li><p style="min-height:1.5em">In collaboration with Color’s primary care team, assess patients with cancer screening abnormalities and facilitate diagnosis of cancer.</p></li><li><p style="min-height:1.5em">Determine guideline-based oncology and symptom treatment plans, identify optimal treatment locations, and order referrals to appropriate local care teams for evaluation and treatment.</p></li><li><p style="min-height:1.5em">Educate patients about guideline-based cancer treatment options, including clinical trials and potential risks and benefits, prepare patients for local visits, and assist patients with clinical decision-making.</p></li><li><p style="min-height:1.5em">Assess and manage oncology and treatment-related symptoms and complications as appropriate for a virtual setting.</p></li><li><p style="min-height:1.5em">Develop clinical protocols and best practices for care delivery, in close collaboration with other Color clinicians and cross-functional team members (e.g., Care Advocates, Nurses, High-Risk Counselors).</p></li><li><p style="min-height:1.5em">Provide compassionate, empathetic care, establishing close, trust-based relationships with patients.</p></li><li><p style="min-height:1.5em">Participate in care team sessions to monitor patient progress, provide updates, and collaborate on targeted support plans.</p></li><li><p style="min-height:1.5em">Maintain thorough and detailed documentation of encounters with patients.</p><p style="min-height:1.5em"></p></li></ul><p style="min-height:1.5em"><strong>Qualifications:</strong></p><ul style="min-height:1.5em"><li><p style="min-height:1.5em">MD or DO, fellowship-trained and board-certified in Medical Oncology</p></li><li><p style="min-height:1.5em">Valid state medical license in good standing, with willingness to obtain licensure in all 50 states</p></li><li><p style="min-height:1.5em">Minimum of 2 years independent oncology-related clinical practice experience post-fellowship</p></li><li><p style="min-height:1.5em">Broad expertise across a range of cancers</p></li><li><p style="min-height:1.5em">Friendly, compassionate manner with a passion for helping patients thrive</p></li><li><p style="min-height:1.5em">Deep understanding of, and motivation to address, the care gaps faced by cancer patients and their caregivers at every stage of treatment</p></li><li><p style="min-height:1.5em">Strong clinical skills with a commitment to evidence-based, patient-centered, high-quality care</p></li><li><p style="min-height:1.5em">Effective collaborator with a team-oriented mindset</p></li><li><p style="min-height:1.5em">Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, emphasizing empathy and active listening</p></li><li><p style="min-height:1.5em">High ethical standards and professionalism</p></li><li><p style="min-height:1.5em">Excellent organizational skills with the ability to multitask and excel in fast-paced environments</p></li><li><p style="min-height:1.5em">Proficient telehealth skills, including patient care via video and audio, asynchronous messaging, and use of electronic health records and digital telehealth tools</p></li><li><p style="min-height:1.5em">Preferred: Licensure in a state participating in the IMLC</p></li><li><p style="min-height:1.5em">Preferred: Experience collaborating with cross-functional technical and operations teams</p></li></ul><p style="min-height:1.5em"><strong>Hourly Rate: </strong>starting at $300 per hour </p><p style="min-height:1.5em"><em>The actual hourly rate is dependent upon many factors, such as work experience, market data, skills, geographic location, and business need.
