Job Summary

Houston Skilled Consultancy is seeking a meticulous and detail-oriented Remote Software Tester – Manual QA to join our growing quality assurance team. As a Manual QA Tester, you will be responsible for ensuring that the software meets user expectations and business requirements through rigorous testing procedures.

Key Responsibilities

  • Execute manual test cases to identify software defects and verify fixes.

  • Collaborate with developers and business analysts to understand application functionality and ensure testing coverage.

  • Document clear, concise, and reproducible bug reports using bug tracking tools.

  • Conduct regression testing to verify software changes do not impact existing functionalities.

  • Participate in requirement analysis, test plan development, and quality improvement initiatives.

  • Prepare detailed test cases, test scripts, and test data based on functional specifications.

  • Provide feedback and suggestions to improve product usability and functionality.

  • Maintain documentation of testing processes, results, and updates.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Strong understanding of software development life cycle (SDLC) and QA methodologies.

  • Hands-on experience in writing test cases and executing manual testing.

  • Familiarity with bug tracking tools like JIRA, Bugzilla, or similar platforms.

  • Ability to think critically, identify edge cases, and approach problems analytically.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Strong organizational and time management skills to meet project deadlines.

Experience

  • 0 to 2 years of experience in manual software testing.

  • Freshers with strong academic knowledge of software testing concepts are encouraged to apply.

Working Hours

  • Flexible working hours with a requirement to be available for 6–8 hours per day.

  • Monday to Friday, with optional weekend availability for urgent projects.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Proficiency in test case management and bug reporting tools.

  • Basic understanding of databases and ability to run simple SQL queries is a plus.

  • Strong grasp of cross-browser and cross-platform testing.

  • Knowledge of Agile/Scrum methodologies is desirable.

  • Adaptable to new tools, technologies, and processes.
