Position Summary We are hiring a Senior Analytics Engineer to join arenaflex on a part-time, remote basis. In this role, you will collaborate with internal IT architecture, data engineering, and advanced analytics teams to design, build, and maintain the data infrastructure that powers automated reporting and insight generation across our healthcare quality programs. You will serve as a technical anchor in delivering performance insights, enabling data commercialization, and supporting both long-term and ad-hoc reporting initiatives. The compensation for this role is $30 per hour , and the position is based out of Illinois, USA , with full remote flexibility. Key Responsibilities Lead the execution and delivery of data and insight initiatives across arenaflex’s healthcare analytics portfolio. Support both scheduled and ad-hoc ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) and data warehousing activities to meet organizational reporting and analytics demands. Design, develop, and deploy layered data models and robust data pipelines that power reporting dashboards, analytical tools, and ad-hoc data exploration environments. Establish data modeling and preprocessing standards for populating logical and physical data models tied to report-specific working tables, supporting both enterprise BI and predefined reporting solutions. Apply best-in-class data extraction, transformation, and loading practices to integrate large-scale datasets from multiple internal production systems and external third-party sources. Conduct thorough data profiling and data analysis across internal production systems, manually maintained datasets, and standardized healthcare data formats (e.g., member eligibility files, medical claims, pharmacy claims, and HEDIS ECDS records). Build internal automation tools that streamline development-related workflows, including data processing, quality assurance, and data validation processes. Partner with cross-functional stakeholders—including data scientists, BI engineers, system administrators, and end-user analysts—to ensure seamless data delivery and consumption. Provide thought leadership on tool-agnostic semantic data layer enhancements related to BI platforms such as Power BI, Tableau, or Looker. Maintain clear and proactive communication with technical teams, internal partners, clients, and vendor relationships to align on data strategy and project delivery. Essential Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Analytics, or a related quantitative field. Proven, hands-on experience writing and tuning SQL-based ETL/ELT scripts for large-scale data environments. Demonstrated experience architecting and delivering logically separated data environments using modern ETL/ELT services such as Azure Data Factory, Databricks, or Snowflake. Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey complex technical concepts to technical and non-technical audiences alike. At least 2 years of experience contributing to financial or operational decision-making in a professional work environment. At least 2 years of direct leadership, indirect leadership, or cross-functional team leadership experience. Willingness to travel up to 5% of the time for business purposes, including in-state and out-of-state engagements. Preferred Qualifications Industry-recognized credentials such as the Certified Analytics Professional (CAP) or equivalent data management certifications. Working knowledge of pharmacy operations, healthcare delivery systems, and clinical research concepts. Familiarity with healthcare data standards and regulatory frameworks, including HIPAA, HEDIS, and quality improvement reporting requirements. Experience with version control systems, CI/CD pipelines for data workflows, and infrastructure-as-code tooling.
