<strong>Position Summary:</strong><br/>The Senior Packaging Specialist - Sustainability and Compliance is responsible for supporting defining, documenting and implementing sustainable packaging solutions to support internal and external requirements. The scope of the job includes supporting packaging sustainability data reporting requirements such as EPR and PPWR, collaborating with cross functional partners on sustainability gaps/opportunities to develop a packaging project pipeline, and the implementation of innovative and sustainable packaging solutions. <br/><br/>The Senior Specialist shall also provide technical support, guidance and expertise to Operators, Supervisors and other functions as necessary in the development of packaging related projects. The position requires a high degree of responsibility, intensive cross-functional collaboration, decision-making ability, leadership and self-sufficiency. <br/><br/><strong>Location: </strong>This position will be either a remote or hybrid role based on the selected candidate's geographic location. Strong preference will be given to applicants who live within a commutable distance of Bohemia, New York<br/><br/><strong>Key Responsibilities:</strong><br/>• Act as a packaging subject matter expert in support of sustainable packaging initiatives that will result in packaging renovations, new product introduction, increased productivity, higher quality and improved costs.<br/>• Collaborate and provide packaging sustainability data for local and global reporting (EPR, PPWR, etc)<br/>• Deliver results by working in a collaborative, cross-functions environment with Regulatory, Procurement, Manufacturing, Quality/R&D and Sales/Marketing to manage the Material Qualification process.<br/>• Provide front line support to factories. Make sure of knowledge transfer related to packaging mastership to eliminate the root cause of assistance requests.<br/>• May be assigned as project manager on specific projects as needed<br/><br/><strong>Experience and Education Requirements:</strong><br/>• BS or MS degree in Food Science, Material Science, Packaging Science, Packaging Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or related field<br/>• Minimum of 7+ years of relevant packaging industry experience as related to the food and beverage industry<br/>• Strong understanding of packaging sustainability requirements locally and globally<br/>• Clear understanding of packaging design, materials, equipment and systems<br/>• Working knowledge of project life cycle deliverables, contract and schedule<br/>• Understanding of industry standards of Regulatory Compliance and Food Safety <br/><br/><strong>Skills:</strong><br/>• Excellent oral/written/interpersonal communication skills with the ability to influence others and drive alignment among team functions<br/>• Ability to convey complex and/or detailed information to a wide range of individuals/audiences with different knowledge levels<br/>• Strong administrative and computer skills, including Microsoft Word, Excel, Access and PowerPoint<br/>• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Demonstrated ability to identify and resolve issues in a timely manner gather and analyze information skillfully to formulate action plans and follow them through to completion.<br/>• Demonstrated project management experience as Project Leader and cross-functional team participant, with demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects<br/>• Ability to work in a fast paced and high performing environment #LI-S<br/><br/>The approximate pay range for this position is $110,000.00 to $125,000.00. Please note that the pay range provided is a good faith estimate for the position at the time of posting.
