<div><strong>Overview</strong><br/><p><strong>This role is 100% REMOTE</strong></p> <p> </p> <p>We’re seeking a Senior Solutions Architect with deep expertise designing, governing, and evolving complex retail store technology ecosystems. In this role, you will define the architectural vision and technical direction for critical store systems, ensuring solutions are scalable, resilient, secure, and aligned with enterprise strategy across a global footprint.</p> <p>You will work as a senior technical authority across Store Systems, partnering closely with Engineering, Enterprise Architecture, Security, Infrastructure, Operations, Product, and Vendor teams. Your work will shape how our POS, in store services, integrations, and platforms evolve—balancing long term architectural integrity with the immediate needs of a fast paced retail environment.</p> <p>This position is ideal for architects who operate comfortably at both strategic and execution levels, who deeply understand store operations, and who influence outcomes across multiple teams and programs.</p> Responsibilities <p><strong>Enterprise Store Systems Architecture & Strategy</strong></p> <ul> <li>Own and evolve the <strong>end0to0end architecture</strong> for major store system domains, including POS, in0store applications, services, and integrations.</li> <li>Define architectural roadmaps that guide modernization, platform evolution, and technical investment decisions.</li> <li>Establish and govern architecture standards across <strong>Oracle Xstore, Java and .NET services, APIs (REST and SOAP), microservices, and web applications (React or Angular)</strong>.</li> <li>Act as an architectural escalation point for complex, cross0cutting technical challenges.</li> </ul> <p><strong>Platform Modernization & Integration Leadership</strong></p> <ul> <li>Drive architectural direction for transitioning legacy and monolithic store components toward <strong>service0oriented and microservices architectures</strong>.</li> <li>Define and enforce <strong>API, integration, and data contract standards</strong> across internal and third0party systems.</li> <li>Design integration strategies that support real0time, near0real0time, and batch interactions across store and enterprise platforms.</li> <li>Provide technical leadership in designing cloud, hybrid, and store0resident solutions leveraging <strong>Azure</strong>.</li> </ul> <p><strong>Reliability, Compliance & Global Scale</strong></p> <ul> <li>Architect solutions that meet the demands of <strong>large0scale, global retail deployments</strong>, including regional variance and regulatory requirements.</li> <li>Ensure architectural designs incorporate <strong>resiliency, offline operation, failover, startup health, and recovery strategies</strong> required for store environments.</li> <li>Partner with Security, Risk, and Compliance teams to define architectures that meet fiscalization, tax, privacy, and certification requirements across countries.</li> </ul> <p><strong>DevOps, Observability & Operational Architecture</strong></p> <ul> <li>Define architectural approaches for <strong>CI/CD pipelines</strong>, deployment models, and environment lifecycle management.</li> <li>Ensure observability and operability are first0class concerns in all architectures, including <strong>logging, metrics, traces, alerting, dashboards, and health checks</strong>.</li> <li>Influence operational design decisions to reduce downtime, improve diagnosability, and improve mean time to recovery (MTTR).</li> <li>Partner with Operations and Support teams to align architecture with real0world support and incident response needs.</li> </ul> <p><strong>Technical Leadership & Influence</strong></p> <ul> <li>Serve as a <strong>trusted technical advisor</strong> to senior engineering leaders, product partners, and executive stakeholders.</li> <li>Lead architecture reviews, design authorities, and technology evaluations across multiple teams and initiatives.</li> <li>Mentor engineers and architects, raising the overall architectural maturity of the organization.</li> <li>Clearly document and communicate architecture decisions, tradeoffs, and principles to both technical and non0technical audiences.</li> </ul> Qualifications <p><strong>Minimum Requirements</strong></p> <ul> <li><strong>10+ years</strong> of experience in software engineering, solution architecture, or platform architecture roles.</li> <li>Significant experience architecting <strong>retail store systems or POS platforms</strong>.</li> <li>Deep technical background with <strong>Java, .NET (C#), RESTful APIs, SOAP services, and microservices architectures</strong>.</li> <li>Proven experience designing solutions using <strong>Azure cloud services</strong> and hybrid deployment models.</li> <li>Strong expertise in <strong>data architecture and relational databases</strong> (SQL Server and Oracle DB).</li> <li>Demonstrated ability to design for <strong>large0scale production operations</strong>, reliability, and observability.</li> <li>Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, including the ability to influence without direct authority.</li> </ul> <p><strong>Preferred Requirements</strong></p> <ul> <li>Experience with architecture or engineering Oracle XStore.</li> <li>Experience leading architecture for <strong>multi0region or global retail deployments</strong>.</li> <li>Strong understanding of <strong>store networking, edge0like constraints, and offline0first design patterns</strong>.</li> <li>Experience shaping frontend architecture using <strong>React or Angular</strong>.</li> <li>Background modernizing legacy retail platforms and defining long0term architecture strategy.</li> <li>Experience working with <strong>Git0based This range represents the anticipated low and high end of the salary for this position. This role is also eligible to receive short term incentives that align with individual and company performance. Salary will be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data.
