Transcriptionist – Audio to Text Conversion (Remote)

Job Summary

Progressive Technology is looking for detail-oriented and dependable Transcriptionists to join our growing remote team. This role involves converting a variety of audio recordings into accurate, readable text files. You will play a crucial role in ensuring high-quality written documentation for podcasts, interviews, meetings, medical notes, and other verbal communications. Key Responsibilities

  • Listen to and transcribe audio or video recordings into written text accurately and efficiently

  • Edit and proofread transcriptions to correct grammatical errors, misheard words, and formatting issues

  • Identify different speakers in multi-speaker audio files and label them appropriately

  • Maintain confidentiality and adhere to data security protocols for sensitive content

  • Meet established deadlines and maintain consistent turnaround times

  • Use transcription software and tools (e.g., Express Scribe, oTranscribe, etc.)

  • Communicate with project managers for clarifications or instructions related to transcription tasks

  • Follow formatting guidelines provided by clients or internal team leads

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Excellent command of written and spoken English

  • Strong listening skills and attention to detail

  • Proficiency in grammar, punctuation, and spelling

  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision

  • Familiarity with transcription tools and software

  • Fast and accurate typing speed (minimum 60 WPM preferred)

  • Reliable internet connection and a quiet working environment

  • Ability to handle multiple audio formats and accents

Experience

  • 0–2 years of transcription experience (freshers with strong language skills are welcome to apply)

  • Prior experience in general, legal, or medical transcription is an added advantage
