Job Summary

Progressive Technology is seeking a creative and detail-oriented YouTube Thumbnail & Video Editor to join our digital content team on a part-time freelance basis. This role involves crafting compelling thumbnails and editing engaging short and long-form video content for YouTube. The ideal candidate is proficient in design and video editing tools, understands YouTube content trends, and knows how to attract clicks and views with visual storytelling.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design high-conversion YouTube thumbnails tailored to target audiences and trends.

  • Edit and assemble raw footage into polished, engaging videos for YouTube (vlogs, tutorials, shorts, etc.).

  • Add text overlays, sound effects, music, and transitions to enhance video quality.

  • Collaborate with the content and social media teams to align with branding and messaging guidelines.

  • Optimize thumbnails and video edits for performance (CTR, engagement, retention).

  • Stay updated on YouTube trends and algorithm changes to inform design and editing strategies.

  • Revise content based on feedback quickly and efficiently.

  • Manage multiple video editing tasks simultaneously while meeting deadlines.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Proficiency in Adobe Photoshop, Premiere Pro, After Effects, Canva, or equivalent tools.

  • A strong portfolio showcasing both thumbnails and edited YouTube videos.

  • Understanding of YouTube SEO, click-through rate strategies, and audience psychology.

  • Ability to compress content for maximum viewer retention without losing storytelling flow.

  • Strong visual sense, color grading knowledge, and an eye for detail.

  • Good communication and time management skills.

Experience

  • Minimum 1 year of experience in YouTube content creation, editing, or digital media design.
