Reporting to the Director of Bookkeeping Services, the Bookkeeper is responsible for providing remote financial support to external clients.

The ideal candidate should possess a strong and proven bookkeeper and Xero background with the ability to understand a small business’ accounting and financial processes. We are looking for self-motivated, detailed oriented, accounting professionals who have the availability to work virtually.

The bookkeeper will handle the following financial transactions as needed for a variety of clients and exciting start-ups. Primary responsibilities include:
  • Client account preparation and cleanup
  • Conversion of client accounts to Xero
  • Handling Accounts Receivable (AR)
  • Entering and paying Accounts Payable (AP) invoices
  • Credit Collections
  • Bank and Credit Card Reconciliations
  • Account Reconciliation
  • Sales Tax filing
  • Handling special projects as required
  • Compiling expense reports
  • Organizing and filing documents
  • Maintaining confidential files

REQUIREMENTS:
  • At least four (4) years of bookkeeping experience
  • Expert with Xero - QBO (Quickbooks Online) experience is a plus
  • Knowledge of how to integrate credit card and vendor transactions via Xero
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel
  • Experience with compiling and filing Sales Tax
  • Strong organizational skills; ability to schedule and accomplish assigned tasks in a timely manner
  • Articulate with excellent communication skills as well as grammar and spelling
  • Comfortable with technology and learning new systems
  • Friendly, collaborative, upbeat “can-do” attitude

EDUCATION:

At least four years relevant work experience and/or Bachelors in Accounting and/or Finance or related degree (i.e. a degree in Fiscal Management)
