Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Tax Preparer to join our growing team. This role focuses on preparing individual and business tax returns and supporting clients throughout the tax compliance process. This is a part-time, fully remote position, with increased hours expected during peak tax deadlines.

A CPA or Enrolled Agent (EA) credential is preferred but not required.

Key Responsibilities

Prepare federal and state income tax returns for:

  • Individuals
  • S Corporations
  • Partnerships

Handle multi-state tax filings

Communicate directly with clients to gather and clarify tax information

Perform accounting support for business clients, including:

  • Creating and reviewing trial balances
  • Preparing adjusting journal entries

Respond to tax notices and assist with IRS and state agency correspondence

Support tax planning and technical tax research as needed

Complete work efficiently while maintaining a high level of accuracy and quality

Manage multiple engagements and meet strict filing deadlines

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of experience preparing individual and business tax returns
  • Experience preparing multi-state returns

Required software experience:

  • UltraTax CS
  • Accounting CS
  • Fixed Asset CS
  • Microsoft Office
  • Adobe Acrobat
  • Experience with Canopy is a plus

Proven ability to work quickly and accurately in a deadline-driven environment

Ability to work independently in a remote environment

Strong attention to detail and deadline management skills

Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
