As part of their continued growth and commitment to best practices, they are seeking a seasoned finance leader to join their senior management team.

About the Job The Chief Financial Officer (CFO) will be responsible for leading the overall financial function of the Group, including day-to-day finance and accounting operations, corporate reporting, compliance with Bursa Malaysia listing requirements, and strategic financial planning. This role works closely with the Board of Directors and Managing Director to drive business performance, manage risk, and support key initiatives such as fundraising, investments, mergers and acquisitions, and business expansion. The CFO will also oversee non-finance areas including administrative matters for certain subsidiaries and the IT department within the manufacturing division.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee day-to-day finance and accounting operations, ensuring a well-coordinated and efficient department.
  • Report directly to the Board of Directors on financial and operational matters.
  • Ensure full compliance with statutory requirements including IFRS, Income Tax Act, Bursa Listing Requirements, SC guidelines, and Companies Act.
  • Lead budgeting, business planning, monthly management reporting, product costing, taxation, and ad-hoc financial analysis.
  • Implement and manage effective risk management frameworks and internal controls.
  • Manage cash flow, fundraising, investment activities, and public listing-related matters.
  • Review monthly consolidated accounts, quarterly results, and corporate announcements.
  • Oversee product costing and investigate variances between actual results and budgets.
  • Provide training and guidance to non-finance staff on finance-related matters.
  • Supervise administrative functions for specific subsidiaries (Timber and F&B).
  • Manage the Group’s non-life insurance policies and ensure safety & health compliance.
  • Oversee mergers, acquisitions, and financial due diligence where required.
  • Align financial policies and reporting frameworks across the Group to ensure consistency and transparency.
  • Provide strategic input on business expansions, partnerships, and investment opportunities.
  • Oversee the IT department (Manufacturing) to align technology investments with financial objectives and optimize IT expenditures.
  • Ensure IT systems and financial data security comply with industry regulations.
Job Requirements
  • Degree holder in Accounting, Finance, or a related professional qualification (e.g., ACCA, CPA, CIMA is an advantage).
  • Minimum of 6 years of working experience in Accounting & Finance, with proven experience at a senior leadership level (e.g., Financial Controller, Head of Finance, or CFO).
  • Experience with a publicly listed company or exposure to Bursa compliance is highly preferred.
