About The Role

Own and deliver the end-to-end L&D agenda for AIA Malaysia with a strong focus on functional learning pathways - from needs analysis to design, development, rollout, and impact measurement. Build scalable, business-relevant solutions by partnering closely with business units, HR teams and Group Office, while confidently managing training vendors, governance aspects, and competing priorities.

Roles and Responsibilities:

1) Functional Learning Pathways
  • Partner with business and HR / Functional Specialists to identify capability gaps, then design and implement role-based functional learning pathways that combine onboarding, technical mastery, professional and leadership skills (where relevant), guided by clear proficiency levels, outcomes and assessments.
2) L&D Strategy & Governance
  • Set local L&D priorities aligned to Group Office frameworks, strategic priorities and workforce needs.
  • Ensure quality, measurable standards for learning design, facilitation, measurement, and experience.
3) Learning Design, Development & Delivery
  • Lead the end-to-end learning solution lifecycle (from needs analysis to evaluation), using blended delivery approaches, where relevant, to create engaging, inclusive and accessible programmes.
  • Build organisation-wide learning curriculum and oversee end-to-end programme operations.
  • Facilitate key programmes, where needed, and equip Functional Specialists to deliver effectively.
  • Identify, curate and deploy blended solutions to strengthen learning effectiveness and agility, where applicable.
  • Collaborate with Enterprise Agile team to curate customised learning plans to strengthen Agile adoption.
4) Stakeholder Management & Influence
  • Advise on and challenge “sponsorship requests”, when needed, to ensure learning outcomes are aligned to roles and business priorities.
  • Align multiple stakeholders, manage expectations, and communicate scope, timelines, dependencies, and decisions clearly and proactively.
5) Vendor, Programme & Budget Management
  • Oversee HRDC administration and vendor management.
  • Source and manage training vendors in terms of scope, commercials, SLAs, quality assurance, and delivery.
  • Track budgets, contracts, and procurement & process compliance with 100% adherence.
6) Measurement, Analytics & ROI
  • Track completion, capability uplift, application, and outcomes.
  • Build dashboards / insights for decision-making.
  • Report learning value and ROI and identify data-driven improvement opportunities.
7) Compliance, Mandatory Learning & Systems Enablement
  • Ensure learning solutions meet AIA policies and standards, and regulatory requirements.
  • Oversee mandatory learning rollout and tracking.
  • Serve as primary contact (non-technical) for Workday Learning processes, reporting, and testing; act as verifier/reviewer for learning transactions.
  • Represent AIA Malaysia in relevant Group Office L&D forums and industry initiatives.
Minimum Job Requirements:
  • Min. 8 years in L&D / Talent Development, including 3+ years leading functional L&D.
  • Proven experience building functional learning pathways.
  • Strong stakeholder influence - able to push back, prioritise, and align senior leaders.
  • Solid HRDC administration experience.
  • Solid vendor management experience (selection, contracting, SLAs, QA, evaluation).
  • Strong programme / project management with ability to handle high demand and tight timelines.
  • Data-driven approach to learning measurement and improvement.
  • High proficiency in PowerPoint/Excel and comfortable building dashboards / insights.
