Join our Data & Analytics team as an SAP BW Engineer, where you'll play a critical role in maintaining, optimizing, and evolving our enterprise data warehouse platform that serves thousands of business users globally.

In the context of our digital transformation roadmap (SAP S/4HANA migration and data platform modernization), you'll ensure operational excellence while preparing for strategic technology evolution.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Operations & Support
  • Manage daily operations of SAP BW 7.5 on HANA environment
  • Monitor and optimize system performance (load times, memory consumption, batch windows)
  • Troubleshoot and resolve production incidents (process chain failures, memory issues, data quality problems)
  • Execute deployment cycles across DEV > QA > PROD environments
  • Support business stakeholders with data analysis and issue resolution
Optimization & Continuous Improvement
  • Identify and resolve performance bottlenecks in ETL processes
  • Optimize process chains, transformations, and HANA calculation views
  • Reduce batch processing times and improve system stability
  • Implement partitioning and compression strategies
  • Address technical debt and improve code quality
Evolution & Projects
  • Participate in migration projects (BW/4HANA, SAP Datasphere)
  • Integrate new data sources (SAP and non-SAP systems)
  • Maintain and enhance critical business workflows
  • Document architecture, data flows, and technical specifications
  • Collaborate with BI teams to optimize data consumption layers

  • SAP BW 7.5 on SAP HANA (on-premise)
  • Multiple source systems: SAP ECC/S/4HANA instances, third-party applications
  • Downstream consumers: Enterprise BI platform, business applications

  • Memory optimization for high-volume data processing

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS Experience & Technical Skills:
  • 7+ years of hands-on experience with SAP BW (preferably BW 7.x on HANA)
  • Strong knowledge of BW objects: DataSources, InfoProviders (DSO, InfoCubes, aDSO), CompositeProviders
  • Expertise in process chains: design, scheduling, optimization, troubleshooting
  • Proficiency with SAP HANA: calculation views, query optimization, memory management
  • Experience with complex transformations and business rule implementation
  • Performance analysis and tuning skills (RSDDSTAT, traces, debugging)
  • Working knowledge of SQL and ABAP
Functional Knowledge:
  • Understanding of enterprise data warehouse concepts (ETL/ELT, dimensional modeling)
  • Experience with financial or operational data flows (P&L, sales, supply chain, etc.)
  • Familiarity with master data management and data governance principles
Soft Skills:
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Attention to detail with structured approach to documentation
  • Ability to work with cross-functional teams (business analysts, developers, IT operations)
  • Effective communication skills for technical and business audiences
