Job Summary

Houston Skilled Consultancy is seeking an experienced and highly analytical Senior Data Analyst – BI & Data Storytelling to join our growing data and analytics practice. In this role, you will transform complex data into clear, compelling insights that drive strategic decision-making for clients across multiple industries. You will work closely with business leaders, stakeholders, and technical teams to design impactful dashboards, develop advanced analytical models, and craft data-driven narratives that influence outcomes at the executive level.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the end-to-end analytics lifecycle, from business requirement gathering to insight delivery and executive storytelling.

  • Design, develop, and maintain advanced BI dashboards and reports using tools such as Power BI, Tableau, or similar platforms.

  • Translate complex datasets into meaningful insights, trends, and recommendations aligned with business objectives.

  • Partner with stakeholders to understand strategic goals and convert them into data-driven solutions.

  • Perform advanced data analysis, including statistical analysis, trend forecasting, and performance measurement.

  • Ensure data accuracy, integrity, and consistency across reports and dashboards.

  • Mentor junior analysts and provide guidance on best practices in analytics, visualization, and storytelling.

  • Present findings to senior leadership and clients using clear narratives supported by data visualizations.

  • Continuously identify opportunities to improve data processes, reporting efficiency, and analytical capabilities.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Strong expertise in Business Intelligence and data visualization tools (Power BI, Tableau, Looker, or equivalent).

  • Advanced SQL skills with experience working on large, complex datasets.

  • Proficiency in data analysis using tools such as Excel, Python, or R.

  • Excellent data storytelling and presentation skills, with the ability to influence decision-makers.

  • Solid understanding of data modeling, ETL processes, and data warehousing concepts.

  • Strong problem-solving skills and a strategic, business-oriented mindset.

  • Exceptional communication and stakeholder management abilities.

  • Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Experience

  • Bachelors degree in Data Analytics, Statistics, Computer Science, Business, or a related field (Masters degree preferred).

  • 5–8+ years of experience in data analytics, business intelligence, or a related role.

  • Proven experience delivering executive-level dashboards and insights.

  • Prior experience in consulting, professional services, or multi-industry environments is highly desirable.

Working Hours

  • Full-time position

  • Standard business hours, Monday to Friday

  • Flexibility may be available depending on project requirements and client needs
